Default Passenger pegs falling down

I have a 2010 CVO Softail and the left side passenger peg falls down. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm thinking of just removing the pin and snap ring and replacing with a bolt and nut.

it has a crush fit type washer in there, put a wrench on it and tighten it up a little...

This issues is with all the ConV's and on both sides. Seems the bracket shaped as a fork to hold the peg hinge is just a touch too wide. Some have been able to remove the pin and fit an extra tension washer. It is a very tight fit but this will solve the issue and has been done.

I asked the dealer to do this to ours during the 1K. I told them exactly how to do it also and why. When I got it back there were bolts installed. The left hand peg was in it's 45* swing back position but the right peg was pointing straight up. They then tried to charge me 35 bucks for two chrome bolts.

After taking the service guy out to see how they Mucked it up and me reminding him about my instructions... I was fit to be tied. I told them at the beginning bolts were not an option due to the right side heat shield but... the didn't give a crap.

Told the jerk off to take the frigg'n bolts back out and put my pins back in and hand me two extra tension washers. I'd do it myself.

Got home and tried... problem is when they tightened the bolts they crushed the fork down which reduced the gap in the hinge. Now the extra tension washer will not fit and the pegs still fall down.

My fix was to put in hardened bolts, tighten the **** out of it and crush it some more, insert a new tension washer and reinstall the pins. They are fine now and both are at their normal 45* sweep back angle.

Had same problem with pegs on my '05 SE V-Rod. After determining I couldn't add second washer due to tight clearance, fixed it same way Mr. Wizard did by reducing opening with bolt/nut combo.
