Since new, my SE Fat Bob, on occasion will not start when dead cold, at least on the first try. When I hit the start button the engine cranks but want start. No problem because as soon as I let off the start button and hit it again it fires up every time. This doesn't happen very often but I guess it shouldn't happen at all. Took it to the dealer a couple of times but got the standard reply about they couldn't duplicate to problem.
Anybody have this problem or thoughts as to what might cause it.

I have been dealing with a similar problem for about a year now. My Ultra will on occasion not start hot or cold just crank over and over, it might take two tries or maybe ten. It will however always start, the dealer has changed every part from a new ecm to the start/stop switch and still the same intermitent problem. They have spent many hours on this without being paid because until they find the problem they are not paid through warranty work for diagnosis. The bike is going back to the dealer this week if I have any luck I will forward the info.
I have an '09 CVO Ultra with a TTS tuner and map from Fullsac. After 9,000 miles, mine began having the slow starting issue when the bike sat in the garage for a few days. It would crank for a long time, cough through the automatic compression releases (acr's) and backfire. I was lucky enough to get a recording of this on my wife's cell phone. The bike also coughed and banged during warm starts and at 12,000 miles, this would happen pretty often so I took it to the dealer and let them listen to our recording. I suggested looking at the acr's because a friend's 110 made the same noises (at about the same mileage) and his dealer replaced them along with the starter.
They let the bike sit for two days and of course, it started perfectly for them on every try. Their top mechanic put the bike on their dyno, checked the entire map, changed a few start up settings then had me run it for a couple weeks. Although it was better after sitting for a few days, it still made the banging noises during a ride so I took it back. He and I started the bike at least 20 times without a problem so he called Harley to explain my situation. They obviously know this problem exists because they agreed to replace the automatic compression releases. Since then, I've only had two noisy start ups and they weren't that bad.
