Default clacking engine when cold

I own a 2010 FLHR and have been very happy with it as it is my first harley. This may seem like a dumb question but all summer when I have started it the engine did not seem to be noisy. Yesterday the temps were lower around 14 degress celcius and I had not run the bike for about 5 days as I had been away and when I started it there was a loud clacking for about 20 seconds and as it warmed up it went away. I took it for a good run and stopped for coffee. When I started the bike up again the same clacking started but only lasted for about 10 seconds. I rode about 150 kms home and it ran fine and when I listened to it idling in the garage it seemed normal. The bike has 12,000 kms on it. I was wondering if all Harleys sound this way when the temp. get cooler or not or should I be concerned. I use Amsoil 20W50 and when I checked on the oil it was right up
