They did have abs. My friend has one and I think they r great looking bikes. It also rides great. I'm looking at one right now. Cvo seat is narrow but that can be fixed. Just make sure any hd recalls were addressed. Seems like there were a couple
Fuel filter shell recall, don't know how much to do it if it hasn't been done but can't be too much and there is a service bulletin concerning the ABS system on the 08's, they do a download to the ABS brain that helps alot in rear wheel braking over rough surfaces, that too can be done probably for very little money, it was covered under the warranty as it's not a recall item. The SB helps a bunch, highly recommended to do.
Thanks, good to know. Are recalls not done gratis by HD?
My bike in the avatar sits out west, and by all indications will be written off
So starting the search for the next ride, and I know I want ABS on the bike. Thinking I want the 2009 or higher frame, but sometimes some of these 2008s are tempting that are for sale around here. But my riding season is all but over where I am, so not sure if I want to buy now and store the bike but maybe get it cheaper, or wait till spring, but maybe have to pay more.

I don't think there is an expiration date on recalls that will be performed for free other than the 8 year thing, but I do know that service bulletins are only done for free during the original warranty period. There is a service bulletin on the 09's for the ABS as well. The dealers usually pretend that some of the sb's don't exist because of the allowed charge by the motor company is very low so they may pretend that they have never heard of it, my dealer who I like alot, said they never heard of it and i had to find the sb myself and print it out and bring it with me.
Thanks, good to know.
I think there is another thread on the forum where a young fellow is researching where Harley needs to go to survive in the future. Laying down some performance standards for their dealers will be a good start. If they understood what these dealers can do to tarnish the name, I think they would want to be all over it. There is no way I should have to print out information and take it into them, but then I do it for my car too.. ;(
Anyone have a guess as to market value of 2008 CVO Road King under 10k miles?
