Bought a flstse for my wife but havin a struggle finding a seat with a rider back rest for her. Contact several big name seat makers without much luck. Saddleman said they had a seat for me after I sent pics of the bike's frame etc. They sent the seat but didn't fit. Sent it back at my expense and they tryed to charge a 20% restocking fee but after talking with them them refunded the money(still a bunch of jerks!). Any ideas? My wife is 58 an needs the back support. Thx
Sorry Wiz totally lost as to what you are trying to tell me. New to using this site and have found interesting things on here but don't exchange treads much. Can you help me out.

I hate to send someone to another site but seems we CVO Convertible owners post >>>CLICK HERE<<< too.
This is what I sent you in the email. I know I saw a ConV with a riders back rest and he was trying to sell the special set up. About 6 months ago... maybe you can get some info there.

Thanks. Thought for a minute I was getting booted for the site. Thanks again for the help. This is a great site. Wife really needs the rider backrest for her bike, I am afraid she will take my RoadKing. ha ha.
No, not booting you from the site... LOL You didn't have enough post for me to send you a PM so I shot my comments to you via email.
The problem with the ConV seat is there is no back rest on the market that I know of that can be used with the stock seat and passenger pillion. Now, if you want to change the seat to a Deluxe or Springer seat there is a very cool riders back rest available.
Here is a picture of Tinker, one of our other bikes. See the backrest? It's the now discontinued Springer backrest. It would work on the ConV but I don't know about the passenger pillion going back on properly.
Yea, Sweetie had an 06 deluxe blk n white with a Mustang seat with a rider back rest that is loved. Sold that bike and now the seat is on my brother's 05 Heritage. Now he is in love with the seat. I think the problem is with the protective ribs on the rear fender of the cvo. The ribs causes the seat to sit higher and ultimately making the seat too short to fit in the frame and still make the rear fender bolt connection. The saddleman seat was about 3/4" too short. I hope you get what I am saying. I drive Sweetie nuts with this kinda stuff. LOL.

I hate to suggest such a thing but... the chrome and rubber strips are simply glued on to the fender. With a hair drier on normal heat and a string of waxed dental floss they can be removed. The remaining glue from the double sided tape can be removed with "Goof Off".
Sounds like if you remove them you would have your choice in seats with a riders backrest combo.
