I am picking up my new CVO Ultra Classic in Feb. and have been reading here where people were having lots of problems with the 110. Granted the dates seemd to be 07 and before, is it still a problem or has that been taken care of and things are all good now.
Anyone have a CVO either new or several years old and not have problems?
I really do not want to spend this kindd of $ and have problems. I am getting it for my last bike and plan on touring most of the time.
Dream is to ride not sit by the road or be at the shop every week.
Let me know what you guys have experienced.
Thanks
Oh yea some guy over in the touring section called me a RUB when I started a thread telling everyone that I put my money down on one.
Did not know what a rub was so I had to ask--rich urban biker??I am a roofer. Some rub huh!!!!
I have had a CVO Street Glide for nearly 2 months now. Have about 2500 miles on it and no problems thus far. Seems to run well. I did change out the pipes and exhaust to a D&D 2 into 1 system (Fat Cat) about a week after I had the bike and TTS Master Tuner and Dyno when I hit 1000 miles.
I wouldn't worry about someone who starts the usual $hit. You are always probably encounter at least one person who seems to gain their sense of worth from character assasination. All you can do is consider the ignorance of the source and move on.
2010 SEUC, only 5000 miles, would have liked to ride more but had some health issues. Only problem I have had is getting enough time to ride it. No motor problems. Dont know how tall you are but the only reoccuring issue is the seat height being to high. A lot of folks lower with seat change or suspension mods.
I'm not an authority on this by any means, but I did hear the first two years they were out they had some problems but that they got them straightened out now. As to someone here calling you a RUB, ignore the ignorant bastard. I'm so tired of hearing "bikers" use that word. The whole concept of being a biker is DOING YOUR OWN THING, not looking down your nose at somebody because they may possibly have a couple of bucks in their pocket. I WISH someone would call me a RUB to my face. People need to worry about themselves, and not what somebody else is doing. You'll get a lot of keyboard warriors here because it's so easy to portray whatever you want on an anonymous internet connection. Don't worry, you work and sweat for a living as do I, and there's always going to be an ******* wherever you go.
The 110 came about in 2007. Most of the 07 models had a few problems (although not all of them did), the problems continued into 2008, by mid year the MOCO corrected the problem and not much else has happened that I am aware of.
What was the problem you might ask, most of what I have read has been the rear cylinder leaking oil, the MOCO tried different gaskets and I believe the fix was actually took redesigning of the heads, but I could be wrong, mine never had any problems.
I have a 2011 road glide and have had no problems with motor only had time to get 1200 miles on it before it turned winter . I did get Vance & Hines xpipe and monster rounds on with the se tuner a must have over stock IMHO . I have had a couple of small issues with other things front brake line leaking replaced under warranty. Also had rear wheel weight fly off and ding fender was also covered check those wheel weights
