Default 2011 flhtcuse6 - gps

I just bought this bike and headed out for about a 1000 mile ride. The GPS is wired through the bike so I can, or at least should, be hearing driving directions through the headsets. And I do, somewhat. What appears to be happening is that when the voice instructions start, the mic is open as well. On the highway, the voice is getting washed out by wind noise. The intercom is not turned on so it shouldn't be VOX. Anyone have this problem? Or is this the way it's supposed to work?

yes...it opens the mic/intercom to give you directions. Check out the CVOHARLEY forum; there is a whole question answwer about it there....has to do with the NIM interface. Many believe that there is a fix to it, but I am not convinced.

And when you are NOT wearing the FF helmet, make sure the speaker selection switch is in the full back position....not the middle position.
