I'm with you but there are many here that just go out no matter what. I've seen some nice bikes out there, mines stays home till that crap is gone

I had an 08 that had the same problem, I also had head gasket issues. They have a paint resolution but it didn't hold up. HD offered to give me a new motor and asked me if this would solve the problem I said as long as it doesn't peel or leak yes. They decided to take bike back (18,000 miles)and replaced under CT lemon law. I paid for the difference in list of 08 vs 09 about $400 and haven't had any problems 15,000 on new bike. Make them stand behind it it's a flaw in their finishing process nothing to do with road salt.
