Default Would You?

I currently have a 10 UC and an 05 Deluxe, both of which I really like, and I almost have them set up just right (does that ever really happen?). I have been wanting a CVO for some time. When the RG Ultra was made in 2011, I thought, that is the right bike. Well, I waited and and now that model is not available in 2012 line up. After inquiring, my dealer found two 2011's for me. One is now sitting on the floor (Black / Grey) and the other (Rio Red - which I really want) can be delivered for nominal price (not sure yet if that price will roll to me - still negotiating).

I'm somewhat lucky, as my dealer will negotiate with me. I've purchased four bikes there in the past two years, so the GM is working with me. I have not seen movement on the price of the RG CVO, but my trade in value for both of my bikes is where I wanted it to be, plus a $1500 in store credit (pipes, stage 1).

Without movement on the price of the CVO, and you had trade in values where you wanted them, would you pull the trigger?

I'd find it interesting to know if you all were able to move the price of the bike any. I've never paid the MSRP, but then again, I never paid over $35K for a bike either.

I did. I traded a 2005 Fatboy and a 2007 Ultra for a 2011.5 CVO Ultra. They gave me about $1500 more for the Ultra and about $300 less on the Fatboy than what I was expecting. They also knocked $2000 off the new bike which I was pleasantly surprised with.

I traded a '10 Street Bob and a "11 Street Glide in for my CVO. Got more then what I paid for them. No discount on the CVO, but price was right in line with what I wanted to spend.

If it's the bike you want and you are happy with the trade in offers then go for it. If you don't then every time you see one you are going to say "I should have done it"

Do it. CVO owners are always happy with their decision (I loved my '02 and am delighted with my '10). MSRP is a good price on any CVO.

Yep!! Go for it. Unusual for a dealer to drop price on a CVO. Not sayin it does not happen, but not often. If you get the numbers where you are comfortable with your decision, pull the trigger. It sounds like that's the one you really want? I did it and will never look back. Personally I would try to negotiate the in store credit unless you really need it. I would tell them to give me $1500 off the bike in exchange for the store credit. Either way seal the deal. If it gets sold, you'll be pissed

Thanks for all the input. Unfortunately, I've still not a made a decision. I like the store credit, as that will immediately go to opening up the in take and exhaust. We'll see what tomorrow brings....procrastination sux!

@Harley1958 - The bike is in Richmond, VA. Both the Richmond and South Richmond dealers have the same one.
