I am looking for the paint code for a 2006 CVO Ultra Classic, it is Black Candy Crimson?
Any help finding the code would be appreciated and I would also like to know if it is a tri coat paint system or just base clear?
Thanks!!
Here is an update on my quest to find the paint code for my 2006 FLHTCUSE.
No luck on any of the forums so I called HD customer service, Susy answers and tells me to call HD Canada because I am Canadian but they don't want to help me because I purchased my bike in the U.S. So I try to get some help from Susy.....She says Harley will not give out the paint code and they will not sell me paint except for a touch up pen, she says Harley sells the panels pre painted ready to go. So you have to buy a whole new front fender because you don't want stone chips and you don't want to do a Mickey Mouse repair with a paint stick on a $40,000 bike. She says I know you don't like it but thats the answer to your question thanks for the call. WOW was I pissed! Could you imagine GM telling you that you have to replace the hood on your Vette because they don't give out there paint codes. I own 3 Harleys and I am wondering if I should own 3 Honda's instead??? Thats my rant thanks for reading!!!
If you are just repainting a fender, why not send it to a shop that can match the paint. Technology has come a long way in matching paint. I used Gunslinger Custom paint in Co. to paint a CVO part and they matched it perfectly. Also plenty of people speak highly of Paint by Gene. Here are both links.
Here in Northern Ontario there are no custom motorcycle paint shops, I would have to bring it to an autobody shop and they don't really want to work on it. I have done some painting myself and was hoping to buy premixed paint and shoot it myself. To ship it to someone in the U.S is very expensive, not really worth it. Thanks for the links I will keep them as a option.
