just got my 12 CVO Road Glide at christmas. Have ridden it 500 miles (its been warm) Have to say, inital impression, you don't know what you are missing until you get one. Best riding bike, straight out of the box i have every had. My first CVO, my 12th bike. Wonder why i waited so long.. oh yea, money.......thats why.

I have 600 miles on mine. When the new touring frames came out in 09 i think everyone said wow what an improvement. I bought a 2009 cvo ultra and really didn't notice anything different from my 06 ultra as far as handling goes. Ive heard people talking about their new bikes handling so well but never really thought anything of it. But all i can say is wow for the street glide. I totally agree with you its the best riding bike i have ever had. The handling is so much better than the ultra just amazing. I know its lighter but still so nice.
There are lots of naysayers but once you ride a few Harley's and realize that the majority of extra features are well done and make the bike better you begin to appreciate the CVO bikes better. There are a well done bunch.
You could, but at the end of the day you have a $23,000.00 bike with $10,000.00 worth of accessories. When you go to sell it you'll get far less for it than a SE Harley
that is one way i havent thought of it before and justifies buying a cvo, personally the biuld and my personal touchs is the part i enjoy the most so i dont see me ever buying a cvo. the 2012 cvo flhx are awesome looking bike

My buddy was interested in the CVO Road Glide;white/black.Our dealer wanted $40k.
For less than that,he could have bought a normal RG,sent a **** ton of parts to Browns to get plated,bought rims,and got custom paint for alot less than $40k.
Granted,our local dealer is overpriced.But like I told him,you just gotta do your homework,and you can have a truely one of a kind bike;until someone copies it.

This isnt a bash,its just my personal expeirence.
The problem with one of a kind bikes is when you're ready to sell or trade them. They have a very limited market appeal.
You can put $20K in customization into a $20K Road Glide and three months later it's only worth $18K on trade. A $40K CVO three months later will bring on trade $32K. This is why CVOs make sense to many riders.
