I plan to pull the trigger on a new 2012 CVO Street Glide this week. I am leaning towards the Vance & Hines High Output slip on's. Any comments on these pipes or other suggestions? Also, does it need to be tuned?
The high outputs are good on a 110. If I was going that direction I would look at changing the headers too or modifying stock to get rid of the cat. If you like V&H, the dresser duals or the power duals are an option. Lots of info on here on the pros and cons of each.
Even if you simply go with the High Output slip-ons, you should have it tuned. I'm not a big fan of the HD flash method and would suggest a fuel management system of some kind. Once again lots of options.
I am in the process of trying to figure out what I need to do. I want to try and get it right the first time so I don't waste $$$$ changing things after the fact.
The HO are going to be quite a bit louder than stock and louder than other options from V&H like the monster rounds. Not telling you this talk you out of them just as an FYI. I have the monster rounds and while I like the looks of them better than the HO, I wish they sounded like the High Outputs.
Fulsac is the way to go! You keep the look of your stock exhaust & the performance is great! Go with X Pipe & 2'cores. By far cheaper than buying a complete new exhaust. Yes you need to have it tuned. Check out fulsac.com. Steve is great to work with. Call him with any questions.
You won't be disappointed with Fulsac! I'm running Fulsac X Pipe, 2' cores Screamin Eagle Race Tuner.
Stock dyno #'s 83.53 HP & 102.18TQ
After Fulsac mods#'s 87.65Hp & 107.40TQ
Great performance & tone of the mufflers is not so loud that it drowns out your radio at 80mph!
I hope this info might help you!

I agree with others. Don't just do slip on's. Dump the cat and change the head pipe as well. Lot's of choices. I would also suggest you consider changing the intake. And yes, a tune is suggested. Lot's of choices there too. Good Luck.
