Here's hoping everything holds. Ride it long to make sure.

Got my bike back this afternoon. Dealership installed new cylinder and ran on dyno for 40 miles with no leak. Weather in South Texas prevented me from putting any miles on it but it is supposed to be nice tomorrow. Dealership has assured me this is the last time it will be town down....they will request a new engine if it is still leaking. Will find out tomorrow. Will let u guys know tomorrow night.

You REALLY need to richen up the fuel on your bike or you WILL continue to have problems with that engine. It is running too hot in stock form and there have been dozens of engines replaced / repaired due to this. Do some searching around on this forum and on the www.FLHRSEI.orgsite. You will find that there are ongoing debates about this and appearantly the MOCO is aware but unwilling to do anything about it.

Bad news....I got my bike back Friday afternoon and put two hundred miles on it today....they put the new front cylinder on and no leaks around it but the rear cylinder is still leaking around therear of the cylinder. Going to call HD tomorrow and request a new engine. Am at a loss for what else to do.

After talking to HD yesterday and my dealer talking to them today, HD notified us that they are replacing the engine. They will ship it immediately. The saga continues....will keep everyone updated.

My new engine arrived at the dealership this morning and I took my bike in to have it installed. Bad luck with engine #1, but at least HD stood behind it and did the right thing by replacing it. Will let everyone know when #2 gets installed and if there is any more problems.

gotta agree, WOW that is great news! back in the ole AMF days, ya needed an oil leak or two to confirm you still had oil in there. heck they used to leakright there on the salesroom floor!

at the cost of an SE and with newmanufacturing/milling techniques, them oil leaks are UNACCEPTABLE, period.

I sure do hope, all this doesn't take the wonder and awe out of yournew Screamin Eagle. now that would be a real bummer......!

purple haze here, i had bought a new anniversary 05 fat boy 95c.c engine .silver ,gold badges tax title, prep, drive off ,allmost 21,000.00. i only had300 gentle miles, and then just like old days oil on floor, not a lot but enough to drip right on back tire, and it was coming from in between case's came together, took it to dealer and he said it had to have total tear down, i did not want my bike violated like you say, all that money, and it's leaking, and they would have to keep it long time, because it was as he said bike season, i bought some oil stop leak, and took it to other dealer, before i got there ,i stopped and wiped all oil it had leaked on ride there, not rich and tookit up the rear on trade in, a 06 scremin eagle 103 fat boy, by then my trade only had 600 mile's on it, he got me to pay m.s.r.p over 30,000.00, it was a perfect bike and they really got me good on deal, and i did not mention leak, i know other dealer would not even consider trade, it was like he said my problem, let some kid tear it down, sorry for rant, but i lost a lot of money but i love my new bike, and 1600 miles no leak's, but i feel like a con-man about leak, and i saw it on floor at allmost m.s.r.p and the person that buy's it they inherit oil leak, i feel wrong inside, but did not want what you are going thru, even new motor, they still have to tear down, and i have heard some bad thing's with 07's ,please don't hate me, but they made plenty off me!! also sorry for writing skills, dumb texan. but thanks for rant and hope they got you perfect motor you paid for it,good luck

Got my new motor installed and have 100 miles on it. No Leaks! Bad luck on the first motor but at least HD did the right thing and stood behind it. The new motor has the same serial number on the first one so it shouldn't hurt the value of the bike. Should finish breaking it in this weekend. Thanks for all of the ideas and support.

I need to take my springer to the dealership as soon as I get a chance, I have the same problem. I noticed it with about 300 miles on the bike. I started to say heck with it, but I'm thinking that if I don't get it fixed now I'll have a mess later on down the road. Hopefully sometime next week I can get in there.
