I went from a 08' Road Glide, that I had decked out to be the equivalent of what would be a Road Glide Ultra, to a CVO Road Glide Ultra. No regrets whatsoever for me. It's everything I had in the previous bike and so much more that I didn't. It's a boat load of cash for sure but I'd do it all over again!
I am seriously considering trading my 07 Ultra for a 2012 Ultra CVO for you guys that have one are they worth the extra coin over the limited.
This has been debated many times. Are CVO bikes over priced? The plain truth is no. If they were than Harley wouldn't be able to sell every damn one they make. Are they expensive? I think so and I'm on my second one. If you're willing to spend 30k+ on a bike to get what you want a CVO is far better than trying to create a clone. The economics don't work. Add to the fact that throwing 10k worth of upgrades to a 22k stock bike does not give you a bike worth 32k. Most dealers on a trade in use NADA and give you nothing for all the mods that have been done.

I have a 05' Ultra and in the future [1 year] planning on moving to a CVO also, I was considering a older one [07-08], as a step up, Or drive mine a little longer and wait for 09-12' used in 2013/2014
Riding an 06 Ultra I am waiting to see what the 13s have to offer...with that said there are only two CVOs that do it for me at this time ...11 RG Ultra in Rio red and the 12 Street Glide in Ruby red...
Don't do it, what ever you do don't by a CVO. If you do nothing else will satisfy you. I had an 08. I'm one that said when the limited came out that if it would have came out sooner I wouldn't have spent the extra $ on a CVO. But everytime I walked by my buddies limited It just looked like things were missing. Now I have a 11 ultra CVO, just couldn't give up what I had to settle for the limited.
I am going to be different. I wish that I would have kept my 2010 Limited instead of buying the 2012 CVO Ultra. It is not that I don't like the CVO, but the Limited was so much better for the money. I did tell everyone when I bought the Limited that the only way I would get rid of it was for a Screamin Eagle Ultra, but...

I am happy that my brother was finally able to get on a Harley and it was my old Limited (he lusted after if from the day I brought it home).
Another question, my wife did not care for the seating arrangement seems that the lumbar moves her forward from what she is used to. Have you tried the tour pack relocator to allow more room.
