The biggest reason for me to go with a CVO springer is that I wanna have a springer.
If I could have find it without the CVO i would have taken it.
I haven't got my yet and cant say anything about the power.
For me it is only the look and no other brands could give me that. Maybe a truimph could do it- but no- maybe as my second bike.
For me it is not the 110 enginge a reason to buy a CVO - for me itis the springer.
I will rebuild it next winter and put the gastank and fender on theshelf.

But if you ask me if the bike is overpriced compairing to metrics if you look on the engine yes but if you look on the package it's worth every penny and little bit more. Not even a Victory is in the same leage if you look on the total package.
The 2007 fatboy look terrible more like ametric wannabe Harley ca't really understand what they where thinking when the designed that bike.

It is all about the total package.

Good points by all,and well taken.I can see the benefits of owning a CVO model especialy the limited production and well thought out performance gains.I found kind of what I was looking for in another thread about the 103"
Most people use SE parts because they are concerned with warranty issues, If the bike is out of warranty or you dont care about the warranty, get away from SE parts. If you already have the CNC ported heads they can run up to about 650 lift cams reliable, if it's the 103 heads about 570 would be the max. This is not to down SE parts they really make some good reliable parts, they just don't perform as well as after market
I like tq myself and I can see the CVO Springer has a nice flat curve from 2500rpm to 5000 perfect for the street.I've seen first hand what a V-rod will do so I'm sure if they wanted to HD could build a bike that would outrun a M109 but they have nothing to prove.Thanx for the input and I'll have to find me a CVO to experience it myself

the m109r is one mean **** cruiser.
i like the special edition one, personally, but its still a jap bike. (i dont mean that in a bad way. ive owned and loved many)
meaning more that in 2-3 years its worthless, and hard to sell. nice bike. very, very strong motor and u can ride it all day. quality is there (a jap upside) but its not a harley.
can u mod ur 110's? sure. u can mod anything.
im liking the dyna cvo myself and would be interested to know how that reacts to pipe, tuning and cams....
not so much because i want it faster than bike "x," but because i like power....

Official Numbers as of yesterday morning;

07 FLHTCUSE2 4th Gear run Amb air 68.10 F 25.09 in-HG 6% Humidity
SERT - SE A/C - Rinehart Touring S/O's

Max HP 89.31 at 5300 rpm
Max TQ 106.86 at 3800 rpm

AFR 13.6 from 2000-6000 rpm (flat line to 6200)

I really like the TQ numbers and the feel - itwants to pull real hard. The HP might need a little work, but I'm sure adjusted for altitude (I'm at 5300 ft) both numberswould look even better.

What about weight? I know my Springer weighs a **** ton. Dont those metric cruisers still come short by a few hundred pounds, or Am I just pissing in the wind?

So far Im pleased with my completely stock 110, sure I want more power, but I will always want more.

MAN I would not take 10 of those pile's for my bike and I used to watch V-TWIN MAGAZINE on the speed channel on tuesday night's, but now all they customize are JAP or METRIC who thought of that B.S ,but they spend all this money to customize like harley, how are they going to ever sell it??? I know ride it until it pop's but man what happened to them??? they used to be all harley than they would have 1 jap then 2 now it's all jap, you may see harley now are then but I'm I missing something??!! or they that good??!! I guess they think so.
