to the OP....DUDE! You must always have a VRSCDX in the garage :-) I am 50 and I know what you mean about the clamshell riding position. However, in 2012, as you know, they did a redesign and the riding position now is fantastic.....must more upright and really comfortable....I could not get one into my garage fast enough....
The 110 in my CVO is a torque monster, pulls like a mule train in every gear, but you will not get the constant ear-to-ear grin that you get when you are riding the VRSCDX.....feels like you are moving in S L O W motion !
Ah, the 2009 Springer CVO. I was so close to buying that bike on two occassions over the last couple of years....the cobalt blue color both times....love the springer front end...It's very sad there is not a single springer in the current HD lineup. Just a flat out beautiful bike...
Best bike I've owned.. If you can get your hands on one... do it. No more springers for now and that was the best one HD produced. Get it, if you can. jmo
I have a 2007 FXSTSSE. Its like a bar hopper to me. I have taken a few longer trips with it however all day at highway speeds with forward controls gets a little tiring. At 70 plus the wind wants to blow your knees outward so at the end of the day the inside of my thighs are like Ive been riding a horse. Also I dont like the look of it with luggage so it makes it inconvenient for trips. The Softails dont corner and handle like the touring bikes do. I have three Softails however any time I go out for more than a day ride Im on my 09 Screamin Eagle Road Glide.
