Default 2009 CVO Springer Softail

I currently own a 2008 VRSCDX and I love it. I've made a couple of 650+ mile days on it even. At 49 years old however, I've been thinking about a bike I don't need to lean over the tank to ride for those longer trips. I stumbled across the 2009 Springer Softails almost by accident and really like the looks of it and am interested in how owners rate the 2009 110 cu engine. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I bought a used 2009 Fxstsse3 yellow/volcano. The 110 engine is a blast. A torque monster. The bike is so cool........everybody wants to know what it is. I think this is the best year of the most classic bike MoCo has put out.

I picked up a 2007 FXSTSSE recently. I know it is not a 2009 as you asked, but what a kick in the tail to ride. I'm getting as much time in the saddle as I can before it gets too cold to ride. Mine has the skinny 21" front tire and 200 rear, but I really like the looks of the '09 with the fatter front 19" and 240 rear.

If you can get it for the right price I'd say to jump all over it. There is just something old school cool about the springer front end sets it apart from the rest of the pack.

YEP. They are all good looking. The 2005-06 Fatboy CVOs are cool too. Some of them have the $1800.00 chrome trimmed seat and they have great paint jobs. but the Springer is cool. One suggestion: If you get one of these bikes with the 5 3/4" headlight, convert over to the LED that Harley offers.

Thanks for the input. Next step is to take one for a test spin but aside from that, I believe I'm sold.

I had an 07 CVO and recently traded it in for a Breakout. Loved the looks- the springer look is very unique. The only thing I didn't like was the stock seat (think they designed the 09 seat to be a bit more comfortable though), and the slight reach of the handlebars.

Exactly what do you mean by "slight reach of the handlebars? Did you find you needed to lean forward to grab em'?

Went from an 88" twinkie to the 110 in the pix below. Now I know it's a huge difference but DAMN, I wasn't expecting all that. I think you'll like it

Probably just that the stock handlebars, while not specifically drag bars, do not have much pullback. Personally I find them to be perfect for the FXSTSSE.

I have mid-rise bars on the road glide and like that relaxed feel on the touring bike.
