That's what you want......an unreliable headlight in the mountains at night because you saved a few bucks. No thanks I will stick to my reliable Harley HID.
It's apparent most do not have the Harley HID to compare. My Harley HID blows everything else away, including my old 100 watt PIAA bulb, and wasted money on a Kury HID. The Harley HID has no heat and only draws 2.7 amps.................and is reliable......at night !!

Are you talking about HID or LED? I'm getting confused.
If you need the extra light at night and it works for you, great! For myself, I'll stick with Harley Davidson OEM lighting. No extra electronics (digital balast) to go bad. Do you know what kind of gas is in the tube? Is it mercury (poison) based?
So is it the bulbs or the ballast that goes out on HID? I have been looking on changing my headlights and my wife's bike. Led's are so expensive and I have been looking at the HID's? If its the bulb, I could just have a spare on hand like I do regular bulbs.

Could be either(ballast or bulb)...I'm running the same brand HID's in my truck...5 years..zero issues.
