I'm trying to crank this thing, I'm stuck. I have a tan wire that I think needs to go to the starter relay. This wire is coming from the regulator. The wiring diagram shows no tan wire from the regulator, just black... Is this an after market regulater?? What do I do with this thing...
It's not tan its a pink wire from the regulator to a fuseable link. It was for the tachometer on FX models. I have one on my 75 FXE. I upgraded alternators and lost the wire for the tach. If your are running a early model tach connect it, if not ignore it. Later tachs ran off the coil not the regulator.
