Hello, would someone provide me a picture of what the stock exhaust mounting brackets look like? I have a 2-1, with what appears to be a home made bracket mount, and I want to change to 2-2, am not sure what hardware I will be missing. Thanks alot.

Since I doubt you will come up with the Stock crossover staggered duals that the Shovel FXR came with...Parts Breakdown Here
You will be Making Brackets...also do Not use the Rearmost mount donut that the MoCo provided to the early FXR's [#34]...your exhaust will break, and you bike will Vibrate. Even the MoCo quit using that miserable bracket...
Use the late model Brackets generally available one for the Transmission mount [#20] and one for the Cone [on the engine #32] ] and Don't forget to tie the Mufflers together [#33]..
I use the Lightest Mufflers available [prefer HD-65A] because the FXR exhaust mounting is Feeble at best!!!
Good Luck and BTW This is a Stock Exhaust Headpipes w/65A's from a late '80's FXSB, and the FXWG one works as well....
Thanks alot man, very helpful. When you say tie mufflers together with that bracket, it appears designed to bolt to the exhaust mount in the rear...Are you saying not to bolt up to that mount??
I think Im going to try some simple drag pipes without mufflers. I know theyr'e terrible for power, but I drive my shovel like its delicate, and honestly it has satisfactory power as it is. Never had drag pipes, so if it sounds like she*t then Ill get something else. May even try a used set. Thoughts???

Yes...Tie the Mufflers together with that mount...but do Not use the Damn frame donut to mount to frame...Do Not mount anything to the frame....

While I hate drag pipes...it may be an expedient to learning your exhaust mounting...If you were closer...I would lend ya the Drag pipes!!! Power is the least of your worries...Drag pipes will Never perform accross the board on the Street, like crossover Staggered duals with free flowing Mufflers...
On the Drag Strip...may be a different story...so the Throttle Jockeys are still loving Drags...I ain't one..
I'm thinking even with Drags tho light weight they would Shake less if tied together somehow...
Probably both...unless ya want chrome, then it's aftermarket I think.
Then, depending what headpipe you use...modification need to be made.
On mine I simply had a couple of pieces of flat stock that I cut to length and drilled to get the mounts where they needed to be..
I'll try to get a pic....
BTW with Drag Pipes...the mounts are sufficient..just need a couple of clamps to go to the mounts.
