Default 1980 flt seating

I have a 1980 flt and I am wanting to go back to the comfort flex seat and my question is what is the difference between the suspensions my book calls for part # 52510-80 and all I can seem to find is # 52510-77

Generally ... a part number with an extension 52510-77 ( 77 is the extension ) is a production date ... 52510-80 ( 80 being the change/update ) is a running change in the part number which should be compatible

I don't think so...the 52510-77 is for an FLH...and they are common as dirt...got one in the garage. The FLT frame is a completely different animal...I don't believe an FLH seat would be a "bolt on" without mods. I have never seen an FLT with a comfort-flex seat...nor can I find one in a google image search...tho I lost count of how many FLH's had the seat...if you can find one post it please.

the 80 81 82 83 FLT had a seat that was flat on top of the frame and its different then the later evo seat that side mounts - the FLH like tom is talking about came sprung

I know this thread is a year and a half old, but did OP ever get the Comfort Flex on? I would like to do the same.
