It will bolt in but don't think the mainshaft is long enough I believe the 65 -69 was a hair shorter that the 70 and later, part numbers are different.

its a shaft change is all you need to do - 70 to 84 shaft is all the same - the case number is the same one seen all the way into the 70 up shaft that number is the start of electric start case not 1965 as the year

I didn't think it anything to do with E-start...I believe the Output shaft on the Generator bottom shovel is Shorter...My '68 was anyway...and of course it was e-start only...

Mainshaft length

1937-1964 = 11-3/4"

1965-1969 = 12"

1970-1983 = 12-1/2"

The E7253 is an anti-theft code number. The 34703-65 is a generic cast number they used on cases from 65-76. There should be another case number on the bottom or top maybe by the kicker side, a letter followed by number(s)

What makes you think it is a 69 tranny?

The Generator bottom Shovel had it's own Mainshaft...reflecting the shorter output shaft on the engine...The Cone bottom Shovels all take the same mainshaft.
