Hello any thoughts on deleting cork gasket on mainshaft oil seal? Put in james double lip oil seal and of course forgot to put in cork one. Leaning toward leaving it. Saw rebiulding on line and didn't put one in?

 

it only fits when you use the open back seal anyway the very early Hi gear had no end seal, they were using lots of cork to soak up excess oil did it work well they leaked anyway
