Quick Disconnect Fuel Lines
I am posting this here because I thought a read a discussion in the Shovel forum a while back and some pics posted of some members' Shovels with the quick disconnect lines between the fuel tanks and from the left tank to the carb.
I helping a buddy with his 75 FLH. It was a complete teardown to the frame, motor, tranny rebuiuld, new wiring harness, paint and such. Not stock just a nice custom.
Been a six month process and we are finally near the end. He was asking about a quick disconnect set up for the lines going between the tank. Anyone have something like that on their bike, maybe some pics and where you got the parts.
Couldn't find anything using "search" mode.
Only thing I found through Google was a set up called the "Safety Drain" quick release gas draining system. I can see how it would work for the line coming from the tank to the carb but I am not so sure of it with the lower crossover line going to the bottom of each tank.

On a shovel the plastic ones don't seem to hold up , I've pulled a few leaking sets. Any more when I'm dropping tanks on others bikes I plan on replacing the crossover line and use a couple shop type line clamps and snip it in the middle .

I have the ones from J&P on my Wide Glide and Road Glide. Motion Pro utilizing standard fuel line, dual shut off. Will install on Shovel next time tank removal is required. Never had a leak and makes taking the tanks off much easier. In fact you do not even need to drain the fuel, just disconnect and put them on a shelf. Saves a bunch of time, fumes and mess. I have had tanks off bikes for the winter doing other work, no leak. My 2 cents.
