OK. My tank has been off my 06 RK since October. But a new braided fuel line on it and all was easy on the tank end of the line. Now, here is the stupid part: where does the other end connect? I can't remember and the service manual doesn't have a good diagram to help me.
There are two (2) possible fuel lines that come off the tank.
- one is a crossover line that connects the two 'sides' of the tank. That goes in the front and installs on the 2 tubes that stick out of the tank and have 90-degree bends towards each other. That needs to be installed while the tank is on the bike, as it is routed below the backbone of the frame.
- the other fuel line comes off of the petcock (or EFI valve) and is routed to the carb (or fuel injector for EFI).
Worked on it tonight and found out why I couldn't make sense of the diagram. Somebody had cut the old supply line and left the connector on the plug end of the FI. All is better now. Thanks again.
