Some time ago on eBay there was a shovel for sale that had the later model swiveling kicker, and the earlier flat rubber pad. I sent a message to the owner about it but never got a response as to how it was done.
The current one on my '75 FXE seems to be constantly in the way due to the rubber pedal roaming around with the motor's vibrations.
The later model has a round peg instead of the flat pedal. I prefer the flat pedal, much easier on the arch.
I bought a flat rubber pad and the later model swivel kicker, pulled the rubber sleeve off the swivel kicker and tried slipping the flat pad over the peg, but that just split the pad open at the end.
Anyone ever make this conversion? Swivel kicker with the flat pad would be perfect.
