Default screw

Need your assistance again John. There is a screw in the R/S case under the engine near the oil housing . Looks mighty suspicious to me.

OK won't touch it . Must have been a porous casting that leaked at some time.

On my Flathead I had a wooden dowel stuck into the top of the oil pump. Someone sharpened it like a pencil and hammered it in to deal with a busted casting. It lasted about 8 months after I got the bike running then turned into a geyser.

Not telling you to do anything with yours, just passing on stories that **** like this happened, alot to these poor old bikes. Hopefully you will never need to mess with it.

Hard for me to see where it is, but Guessing it is an Oil Passage Plug [welded from the Factory], someone Unknowing, drilled it Thru.. If that is the Case, there is Certainly a More Elegant Solution. Even a Shorter Scew!!!!
Or... maybe NOT, and IDK Nutin!!!

I'll look more carefully, at that specific location..
Edit; at a look it appears that is the Cam side, but, if that is the front motor mount I am seeing, it would be the Primary side... but, that would be Round!!! Help me look on the correct side please.. I'm thinking that Pic may be reversed... or I been drinkin already..

No oil passage in that area, probably a pin hole in the casting weeping somebody did a backyard fix on. Pre 78 stuff was crude that's why they coated the insides of the cases with that red stuff back in the day, seal the porosity.
