an adjustable sliding bracket bolts from the case \ to the center bolt on the bottom of the rubber spicket mount on the manifold -- works great
But, Not with the CV, for the Rubbermount bikes especially..
The addition of the Flange onthe CV is kind of a Fragile connection, and the Carb needs to be supported... Not the Flange [which is Perfect for Most Carbs]
I always tie the Air cleaner to the two tapped spots on the bottom side of Shovel Rocker Boxes.. [later ones anyway] with a Fairly stout strap... at each rocker too.. Again, That Pressed on Flange on the CV is Fragile, especially after you Shake it Awhile...
I assume you pressed a flange on the carb.
I ended up getting a sportster filter box, running some homemade brackets from the bottom of the rocker boxes to the filter box.
they also make a 75 FXE rubber mount motors - got a picture
Not that I know of... Just sayin the problem is exacerbated on rubbermounts, but, I will Not go with a Flange support on a CV conversion on a Shovel... Even a Solid Mount Engine..
Excuse me for Daring to Counter what you have Proposed...

Goose,
Thought I'd send some pictures of mine. I used 1/2" stainless tubing bent, flattened one end, 3/8" stud welded in the other end. It has worked for me since the early 90's.
if you need more info let me know, Eric
