High Beam Indicator Bulb Removal
My bulb burned out. Do I have to unscrew the top ring and drop the entire bulb housing out of the dash on my 75 FXE?
Unscrewed the indicator cover and there doesn't seem to be an easy way to get the bulb out from the top, it's recessed into the housing. Seems like I should be able to use something like a pencil eraser, which might have enough friction to turn the bulb while pushing down, but no cigar.
Whatever the method is, an LED bulb is going back in.

Thanks for the excellent ideas. I didn't have hose on hand that was the right size, but the masking tape did the trick. Took a couple attempts, and had to make sure I compressed the tap wad so it would exert enough downward pressure. A pretty brisk push down and twist and the bulb popped out.
Racepres, good feedback re the brightness. I'll stick with an incandescent bulb.
