Ok here's the deal. The bike-1980 flt, got it as a basket case.
113 ultima evo
6 speed in the 5 case
Stock inner/outer primary.
Problem 1...
Clutch keeps dragging. Brand new Barnett cable, throw out bearing, fingers, tamer, aluminum pressure plate, automatic primary chain tensioner. New basket and clutch discs/plates as well, 5 finger hub
Problem 2.
Ultima 1.4 kv starter, 2 ga cables, 380cc amp battery, all ***** starter clutch. Just spun my 2nd jack shaft, Im thinking this is just a poorly designed starter and I need to invest in a good name one.
Currently have a late model trap door and clutch release cover, debating the swap, unsure of what else I'll need.
Also debating a newer model primary, but I don't know if I can run the current basket? Do I have to go belt?
This site has helped me a bunch through this build, but it's my first actual post, sorry for the long wind. I know I should've probably just bought a newer bike, but where's the fun in that??
The only thing I can't figure out is the shift fork rod. My current trap door has a set screw holding it in, but I don't see the same on the newer one?
