As I was adjusting the handle bar to my 1979 shovelhead FLHC I noticed that my Handel bar is in two pieces instead of a one piece as I expected to see. Was it a normal thing two have a two piece handle bar back then? Or is my Handel bar broken?
?? The 1971 FX had 2 piece Bars... but, by about '73 or '74 One Piece..
FL?? I don't recall when they went 1 Piece.. But by 1974, and My '68 was 2 Piece..
So I say.. certainly by 1979 they came with one Piece Handlebars...
I had one, Helped a Friend Find one over 28 years ago, and My BIL still has a '78... all One Piece Bars..

Sorry...my error (can I blame it on the JD?). From parts manual looks like 60-79 for FLH series; 80 FLH models and up show single piece bars. Don't know about FX

Nope... Yer lookin at the "online" parts aint Ya??
Want to be Really Confused use that Online Parts source for Bars/Risers for a '74 SuperGlide!!!
Trust me... my '74 is Stock,Tho a SuperGlide... which was Different, as is my '79, Which came with One Piece Bars..
Now I have witnessed 1977 ElectraGlide with 2 Piece Bars.. But, IDK if it was Stock??
I'll Take Experience over Online anytime... But, The ElectraGlide is a Tough One...as the Clamp was Covered!!
BTW
The Sportster Parts source is Closer to the Facts..especially as Concerns SuperGlides.

So my bike a 79flhc is supposed to be a two piece?
Its surprising how long those cast one pice top clamp risers were around on FLH's - one thing you should do is verify you have the correct riser - it shoul dbe a one piece riser - clamps with two 3/8-24 bolts - right???? if not - you have a problem.
