a mate checked it with a multimeter.if the relay is buggered why would i get a constant clicking sound at the solenoid when pressing the starter.he even said try starting it by shorting the 2 big terminals on the solenoid with a screw driver which i did when pressing the starter nothing happened not even clicking sounds but when i removed the screw driver the clicking came back when pressing the starter.thank you

Clicking at the solenoid, may or may not be the solenoid ... but if jumped [properly] and it don't work... Does it "feel" like the solenoid is coming in when shorted??? Ie is the Bendix kicking out and engaging the Ring gear???
Still sounds like a **** Battery to me... more and more if the Solenoid acts diferrently when Jumped!!!
What does the meter show [accross the batery] when jumped???
If that battery really is good... then yer wire connections are extremely Suspect... especially the Grounds... both ends too...
a mate just checked battery. its stuffed just over 6volts under load.he said i was lucky to get 2.5 yrs battery life as all batteries are crap nowadays inc yuasa. a deasent ? thanks all
