Default 80 flh clutch assembly

How goes it folks I’m in the middle of restoring dads ol shovel and my clutch every thing from the housing to the hub it self and plates was rusted to the point of no return! After sitting for 15 years and apparently waster somehow leaked in It was hell getting it off! So with that any suggestions on reliable brands or type that I should be looking at & a rough estimate on cost for brand new

you have an aftermarket 5 stud clutch hub now and old barnett clutches with the original ball and spring steels

to do it right the hub needs to come off a special tool is needed not expensive and you will be doing clutch work again

the steels we use today are with out the ***** and spring affair - the clutch discs that will hold up arethe alto green kevlor in a dry open set up

the hub need to come off to change the bearing in the open belt drive support bracket - you can get the number off of the bearing and buy a USA quality and remove the rubber shields and re pack with the 2 guy garage green grease -- its the best stuff you can buy and auto zone and advance usually carry it -

they also make a ram jet fixture that holds the drum to the hub, so the clutch stays put and separates and not follows the drum making the clutch drag - you showed a round disc with 10 holes - turn it around that may be one need to see the other side of that

That round plate with the ten holes is the bearing plate

the round plate you removed is a ram just retainer - it keeps the outer shell from walking out when you pull the clutch in - its an aftermarket part - some bikes it works perfect some its no better then the original stuff and the one you have - did not seem to have the snap rigs that retain it so it did nothing
