Is the 3/16" the preferred setting, or are people having better luck with a different setting? I'm having a little bit of fuel coming out of the carb when the bike is idling. Granted, it's running off a bottle, until the bowl runs dry because I don't have a hole in this bottle for vacuum. But curious about the float.
I did use the zenith USA rebuild kit, before that question comes up. Used the float spring. And i don't want to change carbs.

If the Float spring is used... it must absolutely be properly installed... Never allowed between the Body of the carb and the lip of the Bowl.
Then... the Spec. is good... If you omit the spring... Because you are Certain that your float Floats... then it is an earball operation... Level generally works.
I can check for reference later today if you need.
also seen this a few times and I found the floats brass rod or steel - year - was loose in the float hold letting it wonder from side to side and that did in fact cause it to seep - don't know if that is your issue seeping but that is what we found with a few
I'm certain the spring is in there correctly, I've made a it a point to ensure that was the case, because I thought leaving the spring out was cheating, and asking for trouble.
I can't remember what my float pivot rod was made of, i think steel. Has to be better than what I started with tho...

Some real "Engineering" going on there.
I guess If you use the Spring, and it is absolutely installed properly, Then all you can do is adjust the Needle till it actually seals.
Long as gas don't get out [too bad anyway] yer good... The Bendix won't respond any better than an early S&S if ya walk away and leave the Gas in the On position...prefer the off position when Not in Use..
