Hmmm Not me... I got a shovel when the GreyBeards claimed it was Not a real Harley... Then... they went ballistic when I bought an FXR!!! Certainly Not a "Real Harley" but I'm good with it.. I Did not thing
kthe FL front end Changed in 1971..Hell i thought the Sportster front end on the original FX was also American Made... until Disk Brakes... but I have been wrong on some of that ****!!!
I always thought the front end on the FL and the FX, changed when it got Disk Brakes! 1973 I believe...

Shame... as it is still the design of choice for the Harley Drags... But... we ain't Drag Racing here!!!
That EVO design is Very Difficult to Improve... Probably Dropped because they last so long!!! Even if it ain't a "Real Harley" I'll stay with it.

The Evo was a great design. I don't know why Harley went to the twin cam, the Evo was tough to beat. I just wasn't fortunate enough to have one. You guys seem to miss the point. The last real Harley doesn't mean a better bike, all it meant was the last with All-American parts. Not good or not bad that's just the way it was. Relax.

it looks very correct rather see the original miles it has then a blank - but I only see a very few minor things that stand out as in a judged AMCA machine and it should score very well
standing next to it and looking at pictures is in deed very different but this looks right and correct
coil cover is smooth sided and chrome
derby cover should be polished not chrome ? maybe not but its then its a re pop cover
if its judged as an original the speedo will pull points off being restored and no miles - the Philips screw holding the dash I am not sure that is correct < they would judge it as a restored machine only
lots of small things you cant see could be off but it does not appear they did that - way to many thing look right is it all Harley parts ? a very close inspection would be needed
over all I believe its a nice restoration done well visually - if it runs out like it looks you will own a very nice piece - thanks for posting this

Thanks, John, I am not too concerned about getting it scored or even showing it. I intend to ride and enjoying it. I guess their thinking on the odometer is since motor and trany are rebuilt as the rest of the bike it is more like a new bike. I am good with that. Again thanks for your post. Denis
