Default comfort flex seats

It's my understanding that there are three comfort flex seats that were used on the old electra glides, one for the flh from 1977-1980,then there was another one that didn't require the center post spring setup for 1981 and later flh,i've recently noticed that there is a third one that could be used on the flt and the flht frame with rubber mounts,it has a flat plate that went across to attach the spring mechanism to the frame at the front and the back of it attached to the fender like the other ones. This third one could be used on the bikes from 1980 and right up till 1992,in 1993 they put the battery under the seat,so the comfort flex could no longer be used since it is open under there.Am i correct about the third one.

Have an acquaintance who tried that with his "T" and it did Not work... the "T" I believe the "beartrap" is different... according to him..
Only Beartrap I have experience with is the Original...

I believe FLT seats are very specific to the rubber mount frames and do not work on FLH (4 speed) frames, and vice a versa. I further believe the rubber mounts had frame mounted seats only, no bouncing seats. I could be wrong, but that is my recollection, Perhaps you saw something for a Police FLT?

Don't know was it a Police seat or what... but there is a Beartrap type, specifically for FLT types..

I don't doubt it BUT I would need a factory picture to confirm that actually happened - I have never seen that not that I have seen it all but in 55 years I have not - but maybe next week

I think this is the bike/seat you are talking about and I do not think there is a mechanism underneath the seat, it just sits funny on the frame. But I am no expert on early rubber mounted bikes. I hope the picture helps the conversation.

I own a 1981 FLT and an 1985 FLHTC both seats are actually different - I have not seen everything like I said but I have seen people do some very creative stuff somebody some place mounted one is how I see it till I see a factory photo - BTW you would have to be 7 1/2 foot tall on the 1981 FLT with the spring seat bottom

Now that is No **** right there... I already had a problem on the '80's rubbermount Dressers.. That seat is quite Fat...
I was not really comfortable with the Pogo seat [4-speed] let alone add More Crap Under it...
The Stock 4-speed Frame mounted FX seats suit me Just Fine on Stock Motorcycle..
