but they might have drilled the cross holes to the bottom to open the drains to rid the tubes of excess oil - we 8/32 those and drill the centers of the socket head screws to go back to keeping the oil in the block for the hyd lifters
I doubt like hell these guys even owned a drill...... i was surprised to see the cheap solid lifter change over... this one still had stock pipes and butcherd original carb.....
I hate to break it to you guys on jims - they make the stuff -- but its junk when your in a shop and find out that the metal the stuff is made from according to them - times out on the shelf and the guarantee expiries
then after its installed and this happens you foot the bill in the shop for the junk they now and have been for years selling

well you can guess on the cam - but its the oil pump and breather that make you pull your hair out - and not only the debris in the oil tank and hoses - but adding that to the parts / labor list to re do and see how your dime was ripped

Oh.....i know....its a friggin mess that has to come completely apart. Had the same thing with SS. Crank bearings...on and on. Horrible mess
one of the guys was doing engine long distance riding engine combos for them - showed me photos a sets of 55 gallon drums filled with crank pins that had been over looked on correct hardness
said at the time they had no intensions of owning up to it ----------its only about the money they collect

I got a 5 gallon bucket in the shed full of S&S rod cores from the crank pins cratering out in them. Those import rod sets Midwest and Mid USA carry hold up better. Haven't used any of Jims in 20 years or better, the set I had in the 88" motor shovel went a 100K but I picked those up about 30 years ago give or take.
yea I found those rods by accident many moons ago - RPLS with the yellow end caps - we must have put a 1000 sets in never found one roller not in spec or in correct clearance distance - had engines come back with 100,000 miles and was tempted to re use them but I know better - they were heat cycled timed out
