I'm working on a 78 fxe and I'd like to clean up the handlebars by elimnating the switches and internally wiring them to mico switches. I've got the clutch side figured out but the brake side I'm struggling with.
I'm looking to eliminate the switch housing, i looked into a new MC set up but haven't found any that don't cost an arm and a leg.
I need some suggestions of what to do to eliminate my housing and put something minimal on my bars. I've seen some sportys which use a 2 bolt clamp on the levers which I like, but not sure if it'll work with my brakes.
I know not a Shovel, but let me throw this up here for your consideration. I switched to a hydraulic clutch, then went internal with ALL wires, clutch hose and brake hose. Finally an internal throttle setup from Exile Cycles to get that cable inside as well. I didn't bother removing the controls because they were not bothering me, all the cables and wires hanging were my issue. Not sure about the hydraulic clutch, but everything else you could do and really clean her up. I used the Russel builder's kit for the brake line, they have a bunch of fittings. Good luck, hope this helps.
