Default 1970 FLH Mirrors

Next question, still working on fixing the "easy" stuff.

Palmer and the MoCo parts book are silent as to part #'s for mirrors. And I have heard that 1970 was the change over year from Round to Square. Guys have told me they have seen both on known original bikes. I would prefer round for a more classic look, but what is correct?

I have found some part #'s but not sure if they are correct:

91877-66A Round
97879-67B Square

So do you guys agree that those would be the correct part #'s and is there an opinion on whether a '70 would be round or square?

1970 Parts Accessory Catalog shows both. Go with the ones that you like better.

And they were offered in both handlebar and handlever mounting options

Crappy pic, but it is all I have

From left to right and top to bottom

A. 91877-66A Round - hand lever
B. 91873-47A Round - handlebar
D. 91879-67 Rectangular - hand lever
C. 91880-67 Rectangular - handlebar
E. 91875-70 rectangular - hand lever

Just think how cool you would feel with these on the bike.

That is exactly what I needed, including the part about lever and handlebar. From my research, I offer this picture I hijacked from another site, brand new 1970 presumably at the dealership for newbie training. Definitely round, also looks to be handlebar type. Remind me to never buy the first or last year of a model, or a change over year. My '46 WL same stuff, early ones no chrome then the chrome slowly starts getting re-introduced after the War. So no definitive answers on some of the stuff. Even the damn fender braces can vary.

I guess I will be using whichever I can find in a pair. Done whining, first world problems and all of that. Thanks for the help fellas.

For anyone that cares, found a set of NOS mirrors on the Bay, still in the box. Unfortunately they were long stem, so I also had to score some correct short stems. Long stems only look good with the bat wing fairing, my opinion. Some pictures, I didn't realize how nasty the old mirrors were until I put brand new ones next to them. Success, now to find the next thing, thanks to all that helped with part #'s and such:
