If you sit on a stock seat, it is usually so high that the foot controls are like mid controls, FX seats not so much. I have never observed an unmodified FL with gear changer/brake pedal at the middle of the primary.

That is to say... None i have Ever seen... Forwards? was an FLHS thing tho... [of course FXWG as well]
Maybe you or someone else saw the passenger pegs from the old buddy seat setups, they are in the position the kids put mid controls these days.
Oh My Yes... the "New Kids" are thinking outside the box a bit... and even Mid Controls may Not Suite their "Style"!!!!
Betting the one who found the Old Style Buddy Peg Mounts is a Hero!!!!
have you seen the Asian mid controls they are 6 to 8 inches below the gas tank - had one in the shop not long ago and could not - with the wheel in the lift vise - could not get my feet on the pegs much less do something with them

Yeh, I saw that bike in your shop, made for the wee little people, not us normal size folks.
Us old guys aren't as limber as the kids. LOL
I recently picked up a 81 Sturgis. After riding nothing but FXWG, FLH, Street Glide, and customs with forwards, it's all I can do just to get my feet on the mid pegs of the FXB.
I find myself doing a lot more stretching now to loosen up my hips, which is probably a good thing anyway.
Oh, and I'm not a fat guy. About 6' 200 lbs. Just not made of Gumby.
My Sportster had mids since I bought her new. I got her back up and running about 5 years ago after sitting in the corner. Mids gave me a terrible hip cramp. I found a nice set of OEM forwards that I installed, much better.
