All about the maintenance. You need to be on top of the older bikes, every time you go for a ride take notice of what she is telling you. This will always lead to the next fix. You hear something rattling, find out what it is OR wait until if comes flying off the bike!??!?! Money helps, back when I started all of this, a dead battery was a catastrophic happening because who the F had money for a new one. It is nice to be able to diagnose the issue and then have the cash to do what needs doing. Shoe string budgets do not work. Best bet is to buy a known bike, something you know is a runner. I don't care what anyone tells you, a $2k Shovel that has been sitting in a corner for 10 years is not a good deal. She will bleed you dry for at least another $5k before she becomes reliable.

Did someone say something about Irish girls?!?!?!?!??!?!?!

Real , Old, Harley **** is getting to be worth something...
I see yer View tho... all "Loyal" H-D folks that think the Shovelhead [some say Panhead] was the last real Harley...hate the Marketing from the Mid '80's....
Lucky me ... Harley Only, Sanctioned drag racing, was just getting a foothold then also!!!!

Got one that would be real popular with the BLM crowd today, remember back in the day a Tee that had a comment about searching for a " skinny " individual to be a Harley belt drive ? Got the feeling some of my old tee's would get me jailed or shot today.
