Hey Friends. Still shuffling along on the 68 FLH rebuild. (Video series here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...y70ZMEdlqlD4o4).
So I cleaned out the Bendix carb (still need new gaskets and o-rings and whatnot). Got it all back together, but (maybe) have one needle left over?
Can't find it in any service manual or parts catalog diagrams of this particular piece. Hoping someone can identify it by site and let me know what it is, where it goes, etc.
Assume it's from the carb as it was in my carb disassembly bag, but now that it's together, I got nothing. The float needle, air needle, and main jet are all already in place.
Here's a picture of the needle sitting on top of the main jet screw. Square post, rounded on one end, needle on the other. http://joshreinhart.com/personal
Thank you! When I take it back apart to do the final cleaning and install the rebuild parts I'll double check the float. I haven't picked up a kit yet so I'm flabbergasted at where it could have come from, unless the previous owner(s) tucked an extra needle away somewhere in the carb housing and I just didn't see it when I cracked it open. So strange.
