cometis MLS for head gaskets - 3 piece tin over alloy thin center
cometic AMF for any thing that was paper - blown foam over thin alloy center
expensive but the best stuff you can buy today and its all we use in the shop not worth doing the job over for a paper gasket
Thank you and a couple follow-up questions please.
1. On the MLS. Is there a reson they specifically call out the thickness, ie .040? This seems to be only done on the MLS, not on the other ones or even other manufacturers.
2. Cannot find Cometic AMF anywhere, not even their website. Any chance you were refering to EST? Something else?

#2 on cork we do use the blue for the spring and washer center as they do not squash down like the better sealing cork but do not need to and they keep the works tighter over time
Thanks everyone! I guess I must have lucked out with the blue pushrod gaskets. I put them in about 15 years ago when I rebuilt it the first time, still in there with zero leaks!
I ordered the Cometic full bike kit, C9964. It comes with MLS Head gaskets, AFM Exhaust gaskets and EST for everything else. Also found out the signifigance of them calling out 0.40 on the head gaskets. The 40's are stock, 0.30's for high compresion.
