I fired the bike up yesterday for the first time this year. Fired right up. I'll get it into my shop soon and try again. I'll start a thread when I do because I need help on this one.

Its been 25 years since I pulled one but I don't remember it being that hard. Did you try heat on the clutch hub?

+1, was thinking the same thing, try heat. Maybe it is locktited on there...

I had mine off this winter, it does take quite some force with the puller but nowhere near an impact wrench

Heat is the only 'tool' I haven't tried yet. I'm telling you, it's on there.

I want to get a little riding in this spring, like maybe 100 miles and then I'll take it apart again. The bike is amazing except the leak.

I think I may have located the leak. I ran it again on the lift and this time I put it in gear so everything was moving. Not a single drip from the rear of the primary but I saw a couple drops coming off the lift and found a drip between the primary and engine case. I guess the oil has been following the frame rail and dripping off further back.
Since I can't ride it right now I can't determine if there is another leak but the primary has to come off anyway so I will replace all the seals.
This is probably a good time to isolate the primary too.
These old girls will keep you busy.

Thanks for the tip John. I have a 1/2" cordless impact that should do the trick.
I need to get my front brake back together before I start on the primary but that will be my next project.

Hi it is probably also worth to check the sprocket side of the main gear. There is the main shaft oil seal that could leak. I have noticed that earlier.

No belt for me. Just want to eliminate the primary oil going back to the engine.
