sounds about right Larry... all my 79 or post 79's had cow pie trans in them,... I quite like them, but some dont, horses for courses i guess

yes, Larry, my 79 has a ratchet top, must be an early one

big mistake when i switched mt 80 lowrider to forwards- running boards. went back to stock mids

Oddly...there were/are significant differences between 1971/2 FX and 1973... tho I think no E-start til 1974...when that Tank was Introduced. but...don't recall really, and my logical Brain says it should have been 1973, when the majority of Changes came.

Its registered as a 1973 but the vin on the frame says manufactured Oct 1972. Its a great bike anyway and make a change from breaking down on my 1974 850 Norton Commando
