Default Cam cover variants

If you’ve seen my other recent post, you might know I’m in the market for a cam cover for my 76 shovel. I know that mostly the bottom end did not differ between 73 and 92 (end oiler) and a guy local to me has a cam cover with a part number that seems to be for an 86-92. As long as there are no reasons for it not to work with my 76, I’m going to grab it. Does anyone have insight on this? There are a few different part numbers over this year span, and I don’t know how they might differ, or if they do at all.

We have blended them over the years later covers have a different use of alloys and look different in the finish and some were black as well

original 76 covers tend to have a sand casted visual and later they use a blown alloy onto the mold being smoother

they were changing engine parts back then and the pinion out side diameter could be different - fitting and check for looseness is a must at 90 degrees
