Hey JohnZ,
I got the Cometic gasket set. Does any kind of sealer go on the metal Base Gaskets, metal Rocker Box Gaskets, or Head Gaskets? Should those surfaces be bone dry or have a light coat of oil? I had Genuine James gaskets with the silicone lines on them and they never leaked a drop and came right off just like new after 15 years or me. The lifter block gaskets are fiber. Do they need any type of sealant? I ask here for the benefit of all. This is for a 1984 Shovelhead engine. I have it all honed up nice and the piston rings properly gapped and installed on the pistons.
