Anyone had good luck with battery brands. I was looking at Interstate and JP Cycles
and there's a bunch out there. The last one from JP was made in Nam. Lasted not long.
Thanks in advance
HD or Yuasa as far as AGM batteries go. I got 11 years out of the HD AGM. I am currently running a new HD with 2000 trouble free miles so far.
I got 100 miles out of a Powersport made in China, 50 miles and then 5 miles out of Diehards (2 different batteries) The 5 miler took out my Ultima ignition.
I have had this Scorpion battery in my '70 FLH for about 3 years now, zero issues and fits in place as advertised, no wood blocks or other funky spacers needed. Stock cables work as designed.
I prefer an AGM battery and find I get more life out of the HD battery. For the price difference not worth the hassle of finding a cheaper alternative. I even run a Sportster Battery in my Honda Rancher ATV. Again time is money and not worth the hassle of dealing with a prematurely dead battery. JMO
How very timely! My Dyna die on my way home yesterday. It's been acting flaky and I just thought I had let it get too low (hadn't been using the tender every time I get off of it), but it's definitely dead this time. It was an AutoZone battery.
I'm a long way away from my "local" HD, so I may end up ordering one, but I'm definitely in the market for a good battery and will be watching this thread.
Stock shovels any good brand AGM and upgrade to the evo era 32amp charging system will last you years and most the usual charging headaches go away. Stock shovel charging systems are battery killers.
I was buying through Mid Usa and Jireh Cycles for years. Deka batteries are what Harley uses, used to be Yuasa. Most out now are just rebranded labels on these two.
