Shovelhead Years / Models
i went through a few before i got comfort with the corbin,
I tried a Drag Spec 'Spoon' seat, better than the le pera but not as good as corbin,
I got it on ebay as a NOS, it had never been fitted, but was covered in dust, washed it & it came up
like new, not a mark or scuff & got it at a steal as itwas badly listed & iwas the only bidder at $49.99 !!! hahahahahha,
Had an appointment when they opened, bike still in the truck a couple guys came out prepped the bike and made the seat pan to fit the frame exactly while I went over the cover & design with another. Came back with the pan and the rough shaped foam and trimmed it all the fit with me on & off for sizing. Start to finish was about 6 hours and I got exactly what I wanted.
LePera??? Those "feminine napkin" types are Horrible... I do have a Full size...almost stock looking SuperGlide LePera, that is OK
Edit; Not all Corbin's are Good either.. Have another 4-speed model Large touring style that the Pilot position is pretty darn good... But... My Bitter Half won't ride it to the Bar and Back!!! She gets Vocal, and Irate when I tell her I'm gonna put it back on... Luckily more than one O.E seat suits her just Fine. certainly the Older ones!!!

hasn't a tag as its a corbin-gentry item, not a corbin as such.
& dont think they had tags
I have an older La Pera solo, lables says its a "Gancho", its as comfortable as it gets, nothing like their "bare bones" of now days, probabley called that for a reason.
When I have a rider, I have an older Corbin two up, that doesn't look anything like what is on thier websites now. Both the rider and attached pillon is dished out, If I remember right they were called pillows seats.
Both these seats are good for many hours of riding, they were bought 20+ years ago. The Lapera is on 90% of the time, great seat.
While on this subject, and going OT.... during the winter (like now), I ride a M8 Fatboy. The stock seat was like sitting on a bowling ball, no matter where you put your az, the pressure is in the same spot. I've have a Mustang "Touring Solo" seat on it now, its a big improvement, but not even close to the Shovel's seat. Its the first thing I notice when I head out. I'm squirming in less than an hour.
The La Pera on the shovel, you can see its several inches thick.

& Kink, ya right i wasnt getting on with the pogo so tried it, wasnt good, so the pogo went back on but needing 2 new hips ifound it awkward....and i prefer to sit IN the bike not ON TOP of the bike ( i actually go in to hospital at 7am tomorrow for the 1st of 4 operations to fix both hips, both knees & to reconstruct my pelvis, will be a year till i can ride)
