Hello all,
I hope the New Year is treating you well.
Looking on some information from people much more knowledgeable than I. Question is, can a Panhead rim be laced to a Shovelhead hub without modifications? Are the spoke angles the same?
Thanks in advance
Yes they're all 40 spoke, same angle. I laced a mid-star hub to a 2011 Road king rim to run a wider rear wheel no problem. The only rim hoop that comes to mind that would cause a problem is a WL where the spoke pattern alternates opposite to a big twin rim hoop.

They changed the lacing pattern again on modern wheels, somewhere in the 90's. I discovered that trying to put twinkie rims on shovel hubs.
I still have the wheel I did, 2011 5" rim, 72 style hub mid-star for my wide glide, no issues. What angle changed when they are 40 spoke with each spoke crossing 4 in the opposite direction?
